David Castellano, M.D.

David Castellano, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Castellano is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and refractive surgery specialist. He has extensive training and experience in laser vision correction using excimer laser systems and has performed over 4,000 refractive surgical procedures including LASIK. Dr. Castellano serves as a staff member at the Grant Medical Center, the Adena Regional Medical Center, and as a consultant for the Columbus Veterans Medical Center and Dayton Veterans Hospital.

Dr. Castellano received his Medical Degree from Dartmouth College. He also holds a Masters of Science degree and is the recipient of several teaching and research awards including the Rolf C. Syvertsen Award, the Hitchcock Foundation Research Award and the Norris Cotton Cancer Center Research Award.

In addition to his extensive clinical experience, Dr. Castellano is actively involved in the training of ophthalmology residents at The Ohio State University and is the Director of the LASIK certification course. He is currently developing computerized teaching programs to assist in training residents and practicing ophthalmologists. Dr. Castellano's ongoing research includes corneal topography and refractive surgery. Dr. Castellano is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Ohio Ophthalmologic Society, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
