Scott A. Buck, M.D.
Dr. Scott Buck is a comprehensive
ophthalmologist and, with his father, co-founded the Northwest
Indiana Eye & Laser Center of Valparaiso, Indiana. Dr. Buck
completed his surgical training at The Ohio State University
where he performed hundreds of surgical procedures and was the
first resident surgically trained in LASIK for vision correction.
Dr. Buck's research involved expanding the uses of LASIK surgical
instruments by applying them to corneal transplantation techniques.
Dr. Buck's duties also included the education of medical students,
optometry students and other medical doctors in the field of
ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
After graduating from Valparaiso High School in 1989 Dr. Scott
Buck received a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate of Medicine
from Indiana University, where research interests and his father's
influence led him to ophthalmology. Dr. Buck chose to return
home to Valparaiso where he currently performs refractive LASIK
& PRK along with comprehensive eye care including cataract,
glaucoma, eyelid, eye muscle and diabetic laser surgery.

Stephen R. Buck,
O.D.
Dr. Stephen R. Buck practices
optometry in Valparaiso, Indiana. In 26 years of experience he
has specialized in all forms of contact lens wear and refractive
surgery management. Dr. Buck has managed PRK and LASIK surgery
patients since 1995. After graduating from Valparaiso High School
in 1968 he received his Bachelor's degree and Doctorate of Optometry
from Indiana University. His research interests were in corneal
thickness response to hard gas permeable contact lens wear.
Upon return to his hometown of Valparaiso, he quickly established
a very successful optometric practice and has been named Northwest
Indiana's #1 optometrist. Dr. Stephen Buck currently serves on
the Center Township Board of Trustees and is actively involed
in numerous community services. He is an active member of the
American Optometric Association and the Northwest Indiana Optometric
Society.
Dr. Buck, with his son Scott, an ophthalmologist, is a co-founder
of the Northwest Indiana Eye & Laser Center.

Directions
Valparaiso is
6 miles south of the Indiana Toll Road, 8 miles south of I 94
as it passes by the Indiana Dunes Lakeshore, and has US 30 (from
Ft. Wayne to the east and Merrillville, IN to the west) pass
through the south end of town.
From Chicago
and North
From I 80/90 (Indiana Toll Rd.) or I 94 either east or westbound:
Head south on state road 49 in Chesterton, Indiana. Turn right
(west) at the second stop light (Vale Park Road) after going
under HWY 6 overpass (~6-8 miles after leaving the interstates).
Go straight through the stop sign and straight through the following
5 way stop light. Vale Park will end at a stop sign. Turn left
onto Valparaiso St. (heading south) and make the next left onto
Marquette St. The office is a brown brick on the right at 502
Marquette St.
From the South
(Highway US 30)
From US 30 either east or westbound:
Head north on state road 49 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Turn Left
(west) at the second stop light (Vale Park Road). Go straight
through the stop sign and straight through the following 5 way
stop light. Vale Park will end at a stop sign. Turn left onto
Valparaiso St. at the post office (heading south) and make the
next left (heading east) onto Marquette St. The office is a brown
brick on the right at 502 Marquette St.
